How Ezza Games handles your information when you play CyberSushi or visit this website.

The short version

  • The game signs you in with your Steam or Epic account and saves your progress online. It never asks for your real name, email address or location.
  • We use your information to run the game, keep it fair and make it better. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
  • The companies that run parts of the game for us are Epic Games, Valve, Cloudflare and, if you have an NVIDIA graphics card, NVIDIA.
  • This website has no sign-up forms, no analytics cookies and no advertising trackers.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, at any time: contact@ezzagames.com.

01Who we are

CyberSushi is made and published by Ezza Games Pty Ltd ("Ezza Games", "we", "us" or "our"), a company based in Sydney, Australia. This policy covers the CyberSushi game for PC, including the free demo, and this website, cybersushigame.com.

We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@ezzagames.com.

02What we collect when you play

Your game account

When you start CyberSushi, it signs you in automatically through Epic Online Services ("EOS"), a service run by Epic Games, Inc. How you are signed in depends on where you launched the game:

  • From Steam, the game uses a Steam sign-in ticket to sign you in to EOS, which links your Steam account to a CyberSushi player ID.
  • From the Epic Games Store, the game signs you in with your Epic account.
  • From anywhere else, the game creates a guest account tied to your PC.

You can link an Epic account at any time in the game's settings, under Account and then Manage Linked Accounts. When you do, Epic shares your basic profile (including your display name), your friends list and your online presence with the game.

What the game collects

  • Account identifiers: your CyberSushi player ID, issued by EOS, and depending on how you sign in, your Steam ID and Steam display name or your Epic account ID and Epic display name.
  • Progress and gameplay: runs played, scores, distance and time, characters used, levels, ranks, achievements, in-game currency balances and the transactions that change them, Rift pulls and their history, daily rewards, and shop and exchange purchases.
  • Purchases, where offered: the order and transaction details from the store you buy through, such as Steam. The store handles payment, so we never receive your card or bank details.
  • Device and technical information: your operating system version, processor and graphics card model, number of processor cores, system language and region format, game version and launch settings, and whether the game crashed the last time it ran.
  • Your IP address, which the services the game connects to receive as part of any internet connection.

The game doesn't ask for or collect your real name, your email address or your precise location.

03What we collect on this website

  • This website has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no analytics or advertising cookies and no social media trackers. Its fonts and videos are served from our own site.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website. To deliver it and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you request, and it may set a strictly necessary security cookie. We only see traffic statistics that Cloudflare gives us in aggregate, such as the number of visits to a page.
  • Links to our Steam store page carry campaign tags, so Steam can show us in aggregate which of our links bring visitors to the store. The tags contain nothing about you.
  • When you follow a link to Steam, Discord, X, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky or any other site, that site's own privacy policy applies.
  • If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send, and we use it to reply to you.

04How we use your information

  • To run the game: signing you in, saving and syncing your progress, and running leaderboards, achievements and other online features.
  • To keep the game fair and correct: checking in-game currency, Rift pulls, rewards and purchases on our servers, and preventing cheating and fraud.
  • To handle purchases: delivering what you buy and dealing with refunds, restores and payment problems.
  • To improve the game: understanding how it is played, fixing bugs and crashes, improving performance and balancing it.
  • To help you when you contact us.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records and responding to lawful requests.

We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for advertising and we don't use it to show you ads.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws: we use your information to perform our agreement with you when we run the game and deliver purchases, for our legitimate interests in keeping the game secure and fair, understanding how it is played and improving it, and to comply with the law. If we ever need your consent for something, we will ask for it first.

05Gameplay analytics

  • The game sends gameplay and technical events to our analytics service, which runs on Cloudflare. Examples are a run starting or ending, your score, tutorial steps, achievements unlocked, and your device and language information.
  • These events carry a random session ID, but not your player ID, Steam ID, Epic account ID or display name, and we don't store your IP address with them.
  • EOS separately records play sessions, as described in the next section.
  • The game also keeps a copy of these events in a file on your PC (see Data on your PC).

06Who we share it with

  • Epic Games (Epic Online Services), to sign you in, store your cloud save, keep your statistics, achievements and leaderboard scores, and record play sessions (when a run starts and ends, with your player ID and display name). If you play through Steam, this includes your Steam ID and Steam display name. Epic Games' privacy policy
  • Valve (Steam), if you play through Steam, to sign you in, record the Steam achievements you unlock and process purchases you make through Steam. Steam's privacy policy
  • Cloudflare, which runs our game servers, our analytics and this website. Our game servers receive your player ID, a sign-in token issued by EOS and records of your in-game transactions. Cloudflare's privacy policy
  • NVIDIA, if your PC has an NVIDIA graphics card. The game's DLSS and Frame Generation features can download updated components from NVIDIA through your graphics driver. NVIDIA's privacy policy
  • Other players, who can see your display name and scores on the in-game leaderboards.
  • Others, only when needed: our professional advisers, authorities when the law requires it, or a company that takes over CyberSushi, which would have to protect your information in line with this policy.

07Where it's processed

Epic, Valve, Cloudflare and NVIDIA may process your information outside your country, including in the United States. Cloudflare runs our servers on its global network. When your information leaves your country, these companies protect it under their own privacy commitments and, where the law requires, approved safeguards for international transfers.

08How long we keep it

  • Your game account and progress: for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days.
  • Purchase records: up to 7 years, because tax and accounting laws require it.
  • Gameplay analytics: up to 24 months.
  • Emails: up to 2 years after our last message, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Epic, Valve and Cloudflare keep the information they hold under their own retention policies.

09Data on your PC

The game stores your saves, your settings, a local copy of its analytics events and, if the game crashes, crash reports in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CyberSushi. Uninstalling the game may leave this folder in place, and you can delete it yourself at any time.

10Your rights and choices

  • You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it by emailing contact@ezzagames.com. For deletion, use the subject "CyberSushi Account Deletion". The Support section of the game's settings opens an email with that subject for you.
  • When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the data we hold on our game servers and ask Epic to delete your CyberSushi player account. Analytics events don't include your account details, so we can't match them to your account.
  • If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, you can also object to how we use your information, ask us to restrict it and ask for your data in a portable format.
  • We reply within 30 days. We may need to check that an account is yours before we act on a request.
  • Steam and Epic have their own privacy settings, which control what they share, such as your display name.
  • If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or to the data protection authority where you live.

11Children

CyberSushi isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Steam and the Epic Games Store set their own age requirements for accounts. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

12Security

The game talks to our servers and to EOS over encrypted connections, and our servers check in-game currency, Rift pulls and purchases. Access to our server data is limited to the people who run the game. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information, and if a serious breach ever happens we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

13Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the game or the law changes. We post the new version here with a new date, and for important changes we also tell you in the game or on our Steam page and social channels.
